Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Pokémon, talks Pokémon X & Y and more

Shigerus Marufuji, the creator of the original Pokémon games, has given an interview to the Japan Times, in which he reveals that the first Pokémon games will not be in the west, but in Japan.
According to the Japanese publication, Marufus has been involved in Pokémon since 1998, and was also the creator and the president of the company that was responsible for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. “The games will be localized into Japanese,” Marufuses interview stated, “and the series will be developed and published in the country in collaboration with the Japanese animation studio Natsume.
I am very proud to be working with the team at Natsute, as they will produce all of the animation for the games.”
The news is sure to attract plenty of attention, as it will surely mean a whole lot of new Pokémon fans to the region.
It will also surely be a big hit in Japan, with the game already having more than 1.5 million downloads in Japan alone.
With that said, Maruffus has also mentioned that the next Pokémon game will be more than just a remake of the previous one, but also have a new twist on it.
“[Pokémon] X &Y is going to be a remake in many ways,” he said, “but also to make it a Pokémon game with a different approach to gameplay.
[Pokémon] will have new elements like a real-time combat system, new elements that will change the way players play the game.”

The game is expected to release this year in Japan and the US.
